Concert tour through South America

Nicolas Testé and soprano Diana Damrau embark on a concert tour throughout South America this season, beginning at the Teatro del Lago in Fruitillar on April 22, in concert accompanied by pianist Maciej Pikulski. They also perform at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires and Maestro Mario Perusso on April 27 and in São Paulo with the Orquestra Acadêmica Mozarteum Brasileiro on May 1 & 2. They will perform a varied programme, highlighting selections by Verdi, Gershwin, and more.

Blu-ray/DVD release of Bizet’s ‘Les Pêcheurs de perles’ now available for pre-order

Nicolas Testé is featured in the role of Nourabad on a new Metropolitan Opera / Erato Blu-ray & DVD release of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles. The release is currently available for pre-order, and will be sold worldwide on February 24  via The starry cast includes Diana Damrau as Leïla, Matthew Polenzani is Nadir, and Mariusz Kwiecień is Zurga, with Gianandrea Noseda and the Met Opera Orchestra. Penny Woolcock directs the new staging, which debuted at the Met on New Year’s Eve (2015).

‘Carmen’ at The Metropolitan Opera

Nicolas Testé begins the new year singing the role of Zuniga in Bizet’s Carmen, in his return to The Metropolitan Opera stage. He performs the role on January 19, 23, 27 & 31 and February 3, 7 & 11 with two spectacular casts, including Sophie Koch / Clémentine Margaine alternating in the title role, Marcelo Álvarez as Don José, Maria Agresta / Janai Brugger as Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen / Michael Todd Simpson as Escamillo. ‘La bohème’ at the Bayerische Staatsoper

Nicolas Testé sings Colline in Puccini’s La bohème this winter at Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper. Performances take place November 19, 23 & 26 and also feature Serena Farnocchia as Mimì, Matthew Polenzani as Rodolfo, Michael Nagy as Marcello, and Kelebogile Besong sings Musetta. Stefano Ranzani leads the Bayerische Staatsorchester und Chor for this engagement, on stage at the Nationaltheater. Please note there is extremely limited ticket availability for all dates.

‘Samson et Dalila’ at Opéra national de Paris

Nicolas Testé sings the role of Abimélech in Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila, this season at Opéra national de Paris. Performances take place October 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 24, 27 & 30 and November 2 & 5, held at the Opéra Bastille. This new production, with stage direction by Damiano Michieletto, also features Anita Rachvelishvili as Dalila and Aleksandrs Antonenko as Samson. Conductor Philippe Jordan leads the Orchestra of the Opéra national de Paris for these performances.

Festival der Nationen – Gala Concert

Nicolas Testé and soprano Diana Damrau are the featured soloists in an Opera Gala Concert on September 28, at the annual Festival der Nationen. Pavel Baleff leads the Philharmonie Baden-Baden for this special concert event, which features highlights from the operatic repertoire. ‘La traviata’ – Chorégies d’Orange

Nicolas Testé is Doctor Grenvil in Verdi’s timeless and tragic La traviata, this season at Chorégies d’Orange. The performances take place August 3 & 6, with a staging by director Louis Désiré. Maestro Daniele Rustioni leads the Orchestre National Bordeaux-Aquitaine, and Ermonela Jaho stars as Violetta Valéry, Francesco Meli is Alfredo Germont, and Plácido Domingo is Giorgio Germont.

‘I puritani’ in Madrid

Nicolas Testé is Sir Giorgio in Bellini’s thrilling I puritani this July, at Madrid’s historic Teatro Real. These highly anticipated performances take place July 4, 7, 11, 14, 17, 20 & 24, with an acclaimed cast including Diana Damrau in the role of Lady Elvira Valton; Javier Camarena sings Lord Arturo Talbo; Ludovic Tézier, Nicola Alaimo, and Damiano Salerno alternate performances as Sir Riccardo Forth; and Annalisa Stroppa and Cassandre Berthon sing Enrichetta di Francia on alternate dates. Evelino Pidò leads the Orchestra of the Teatro Real for this new production by acclaimed director Emilio Sagi. Several seating areas are now sold out for all dates, with limited tickets available in the remaining sections.
