Nicolas Testé is featured in the role of Nourabad on a new Metropolitan Opera / Erato Blu-ray & DVD release of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles. The release is currently available for pre-order, and will be sold worldwide on February 24 via Amazon.com. The starry cast includes Diana Damrau as Leïla, Matthew Polenzani is Nadir, and Mariusz Kwiecień is Zurga, with Gianandrea Noseda and the Met Opera Orchestra. Penny Woolcock directs the new staging, which debuted at the Met on New Year’s Eve (2015).

Nicolas Testé begins the new year singing the role of Zuniga in Bizet’s Carmen, in his return to The Metropolitan Opera stage. He performs the role on January 19, 23, 27 & 31 and February 3, 7 & 11 with two spectacular casts, including Sophie Koch / Clémentine Margaine alternating in the title role, Marcelo Álvarez as Don José, Maria Agresta / Janai Brugger as Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen / Michael Todd Simpson as Escamillo. Nicolas Testé sings Colline in Puccini’s La bohème this winter at Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper. Performances take place November 19, 23 & 26 and also feature Serena Farnocchia as Mimì, Matthew Polenzani as Rodolfo, Michael Nagy as Marcello, and Kelebogile Besong sings Musetta. Stefano Ranzani leads the Bayerische Staatsorchester und Chor for this engagement, on stage at the Nationaltheater. Please note there is extremely limited ticket availability for all dates.

Nicolas Testé sings the role of Abimélech in Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila, this season at Opéra national de Paris. Performances take place October 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 24, 27 & 30 and November 2 & 5, held at the Opéra Bastille. This new production, with stage direction by Damiano Michieletto, also features Anita Rachvelishvili as Dalila and Aleksandrs Antonenko as Samson. Conductor Philippe Jordan leads the Orchestra of the Opéra national de Paris for these performances.

Nicolas Testé and soprano Diana Damrau are the featured soloists in an Opera Gala Concert on September 28, at the annual Festival der Nationen. Pavel Baleff leads the Philharmonie Baden-Baden for this special concert event, which features highlights from the operatic repertoire. Nicolas Testé is Doctor Grenvil in Verdi’s timeless and tragic La traviata, this season at Chorégies d’Orange. The performances take place August 3 & 6, with a staging by director Louis Désiré. Maestro Daniele Rustioni leads the Orchestre National Bordeaux-Aquitaine, and Ermonela Jaho stars as Violetta Valéry, Francesco Meli is Alfredo Germont, and Plácido Domingo is Giorgio Germont.

Nicolas Testé is Sir Giorgio in Bellini’s thrilling I puritani this July, at Madrid’s historic Teatro Real. These highly anticipated performances take place July 4, 7, 11, 14, 17, 20 & 24, with an acclaimed cast including Diana Damrau in the role of Lady Elvira Valton; Javier Camarena sings Lord Arturo Talbo; Ludovic Tézier, Nicola Alaimo, and Damiano Salerno alternate performances as Sir Riccardo Forth; and Annalisa Stroppa and Cassandre Berthon sing Enrichetta di Francia on alternate dates. Evelino Pidò leads the Orchestra of the Teatro Real for this new production by acclaimed director Emilio Sagi. Several seating areas are now sold out for all dates, with limited tickets available in the remaining sections.

Nicolas Testé and his wife, soprano Diana Damrau, present two Bel Canto Gala concerts across Europe in June. Their first performance takes place at Barcelona’s historic Gran Teatre del Liceu on June 3, with conductor Francesco Ivan Ciampa and the OBC Orquesta Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya. They also perform on June 10 at Genoa’s Teatro Carlo Felice, with Maestro Ciampa and the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro Carlo Felice. The programme for both concerts highlights works by Rossini, Gounod, Massenet, Verdi, and more. Please note there are no longer tickets available for either of these highly anticipated performances.
