However, it will stream live on <a href=\"https:\/\/chezsoi.operadeparis.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">L&#8217;Op\u00e9ra chez soi<\/a> on January 22, and will be available on demand afterwards.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Premiering on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operadeparis.fr\/en\/season-20-21\/opera\/the-magic-flute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February 3<\/a>, Nicolas Test\u00e9 stars as Sarastro in Mozart&#8217;s <em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em> at the Op\u00e9ra Bastille.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Carsen&#8217;s elegant production of unspoilt simplicity leads the audience through the four seasons and invites them to reflect on life as Death becomes their reassuring and consoling \u201cbest friend\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cornelius Meister leads from the orchestra pit, and joining Mr. Test\u00e9 on stage are Cyrille Dubois, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Alex Esposito, Florian Sempey, M\u00e9lissa Petit, Julie Fuchs, Christiane Karg, Sabine Devieilhe and Nina Minasyan.<\/p>\n<p>Of his role debut, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forumopera.com\/die-zauberflote-paris-bastille-dans-un-onirisme-clair-obscur-la-magie-des-voix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forum Op\u00e9ra<\/a> stated: &#8220;Nicolas Test\u00e9&#8217;s abyssal low notes allow him to superbly inhabit Sarastro&#8217;s dark vocality, as impressive as an Assyrian statue.&#8221;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update: Due to further COVID-19 restrictions, the performances of Die Zauberfl\u00f6te have been cancelled.
