Manon at The Met

In March, Nicolas Testé sings the role of Comte des Grieux at the Metropolitan Opera in the Laurent Pelly production of Massenet’s dramatically decadent work, Manon. This is Mr. Testé’s debut in the role, and he is joined by his wife, soprano Diana Damrau as Manon, Vittorio Grigolo as Chevalier des Grieux, and Russell Braun as Lescaut, with Emmanuel Villaume leading the acclaimed Met Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Performances take place March 9, 12, 17, 21, 25 & 28.

Puccini’s La bohème in Munich

Nicolas Testé heads to the Bayerische Staatsoper later this month, to sing Colline in Puccini’s tragic and timeless La bohème, on January 23, 27 & 31. This production, designed by Otto Schenk and directed by Rudolf Heinrich, features a spectacular cast including Anita Hartig as the ill-fated Mimì, Wookyung Kim as Rodolfo, ad Golda Schultz sings Musetta, with the brilliant young maestro Dan Ettinger leading from the pit.

Mr. Testé made his house debut at the Metropolitan Opera early last year as Colline, with critics unanimously recognizing his “excellent,” “elegantly sung,” and “beautifully depicted” performance.

A return to The Met in ‘Les Pêcheurs de Perles’

Next January, Nicolas Testé returns to The Metropolitan Opera as Nourabad in their first production of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles in 100 years. This follows Mr. Testé’s “beautifully depicted” portrayal of Colline in La bohème last season.

He is joined by a spectacular cast in this new offering at The Met, including his wife, soprano Diana Damrau as Leila, Matthew Polenzani as Nadir, and Mariusz Kwiecien as Zurga, with Gianandrea Noseda leading the Met Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Performances take place on January 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 23, 27 & 30, as well as a special New Year’s Eve gala presentation on December 31. There will also be a Live in HD broadcast to theaters worldwide on January 16.
