‘Les Pêcheurs de Perles’ in Florence

Following his critically acclaimed performances in Les Pêcheurs de Perles at The Metropolitan Opera, where he “. . . shone as the handsome, implacable high priest Nourabad. His lean, forceful bass-baritone rang out with such security and idiomatic French style . . .” (The New York Times), Nicolas Testé sings the role this month at Opera di Firenze. Performances take place February 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and feature Ekaterina Sadovnikova alternating with Laura Giordano as Leila, Shalva Mukeria and Jesus Leon sing Nadir, and Luca Grassi and Stefano Antonucci share the role of Zurga. Fabio Sparvoli directs, with conductor Ryan McAdams leading from the pit.

Verdi Requiem with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra

This month, Nicolas Testé will be a featured soloist in three performances of Verdi’s Requiem, with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop. The concerts take place March 17, 18 & 19 and also feature soprano Angela Meade, mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, and tenor Dmytro Popov, as well as the Academic Choir of OSESP and the OSESP Choir.
