For the month of November, Nicolas Testé and his wife, soprano Diana Damrau, will travel to Asia on a concert and recital tour that will take them to five different countries. The programmes include selections by Rossini, Verdi, Meyerbeer, and more, highlighting arias and duets from the composer’s most loved operatic works. Their first concert will take place at the Singapore Esplanade on November 1, then they will sing a recital in Shanghai on November 4, followed by two Opera Gala concerts in Tokyo and Taipei on November 10 and November 14, respectively. November 18 will see the couple performing at Guangzhou Opera House, after which they will give a concert in Seoul on November 21. The duo completes their tour with a recital in Beijing on November 29.

Pavel Baleff will conduct all tour concerts with orchestra, and pianist Maciej Pikulski will accompanyMr. Testé and Ms. Damrau for the recital appearances.

“La Damnation de Faust” at the Enescu Festival

On September 20, Nicolas Testé will make his debut as Méphistophélès in a concert version of Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust” at this year’s Enescu Festival.

Clémentine Margaine will sing Marguerite, Faust is tenor Peter Hoare and Brander is baritone Șerban Vasile. John Nelson will conduct this performance.

Bass-baritone Nicolas Teste has a voice full of rich, opulent darkness and, compelling as he was in King Phillip's aria from Verdi's Don Carlos, he came into his own in Mogst Du, Mein Kind from The Flying Dutchman.
