Saint-Saëns’ Requiem in Paris

On December 16, Nicolas Testé will star as the bass soloist in Saint-Saëns’ Requiem in this year’s Christmas concert at Paris’ Maison de la Radio et de la Musique. The other of soloists will be Véronique Gens, Aliénor Feix and Julien Behr, with Cristian Măcelaru on the podium, and Olivier Latry on the organ. Also on the program for the evening will be Saint-Saëns’ Third Symphony, which, like his Requiem, features the organ, giving it an almost ritual majesty. A double ritual celebrated on the precise day of the anniversary of the death of Saint-Saëns, who died on December 16, 1921 in Algiers.

This concert will be broadcast live on France Musique and in video on ARTE concert and francemusique.fr.

Aida at Teatro di San Carlo

From February 17 to 26, Nicolas Testé will sing Ramfis in Verdi’s Aida in Naples. Anna Netrebko and Anna Pirozzi share the role of Aida, Yusif Eyvazov and Stefano La Colla sing Radamès, Ekaterina Gubanova and Agnieszka Rehlis are Amneris, and Franco Vassallo is Amonasro. Michelangelo Mazza conducts.
