Next January, Nicolas Testé returns to The Metropolitan Opera as Nourabad in their first production of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles in 100 years. This follows Mr. Testé’s “beautifully depicted” portrayal of Colline in La bohème last season.
He is joined by a spectacular cast in this new offering at The Met, including his wife, soprano Diana Damrau as Leila, Matthew Polenzani as Nadir, and Mariusz Kwiecien as Zurga, with Gianandrea Noseda leading the Met Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Performances take place on January 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 23, 27 & 30, as well as a special New Year’s Eve gala presentation on December 31. There will also be a Live in HD broadcast to theaters worldwide on January 16.
