Mr. Testé opened the second half with the substitution of Gremin’s last act aria from Eugene Onegin... This was a beautifully intimate performance that brought forward all of the autumnal joy inherent in that piece. He also landed that tricky finale with no trouble.

Am 24. April ist Nicolas Testé an der Seite von Sopran Diana Damrau und Pianist Maciej Pikulski im The Broad Stage zu hören und präsentiert einen unterhaltsamen und abwechslungsreichen Liederabend mit Auszügen aus Opern und Operetten sowie einer Reihe von Liedern und Songs.
Das vielfältige Programm umfasst Chansons von Duparc, Lieder von Strauss und Rachmaninow, Arien und Duette aus Anna Bolena, I Puritani, La Gioconda, Hamlet und La reine de Saba, Auszüge aus Lehars Operetten Zigeunerliebe, Eva und Paganini, zwei Stücke für Klavier solo von Chopin und Rachmaninow sowie Highlights aus Musicals von Rodgers und Hammerstein, Lerner und Loewe und eine neue Komposition von Brad Ross, „How Sad No One Waltzes Anymore“.

In dieser Spielzeit feiert die Met das 40. Jubiläum von Franco Zeffirellis ikonischer Inszenierung von Puccinis La Bohème. Nicolas Testé ist am 16., 20., 24. und 27. Mai an der Met in der Rolle des Colline zu hören, mit Eleonora Buratto als unglückseliger Näherin Mimì an der Seite der Tenöre Matthew Polenzani, Stephen Costello und Russell Thomas, die sich in der Rolle ihres Liebhabers, des Dichters Rodolfo, abwechseln. Sopranistin Aleksandra Kurzak und Bariton Quinn Kelsey sind als Musetta und Marcello zu hören, am Pult steht Eun Sun Kim.
